Ethan, who was selected as an iTunes Single of the Week last November, has also announced he’ll be touring in support of Ed Sheeran for a few dates this autumn. For full details, see Ethan’s Facebook page.

‘All I Need’ is a jaunty pop tune that perfectly soundtracks the end of the summer, showcasing Ethan’s unique soul-inspired vocals wonderfully. The video for the single features the wedding of Ethan and Ed’s friends Phil and Cheryl, and can be viewed below. Awww.

FieldhouseIt wouldn’t come as a surprise if you told me that Fieldhouse (Facebook/Twitter) had been up for the Mercury Music Awards this week – though that is if they had an album. If their E.P is anything to go by, there is a record contract and album looming. A band made up of, what I believe to be, five protégées, Fieldhouse are a band with musical talent flowing through their veins and a keen desire to produce music that is both moody and comforting. Their E.P ticks every box. I’ve been listening to them for approximately 15 minutes and I already feel like they’re deeply embedded into my psyche. They combine two of my favourite things in the world; big guitar riffs with an atmospheric, experimental sound whilst also remaining quite poppy at times and 100% English sounding.

If you thought that youthful sophistication was an oxymoron then this is the band which proves you wrong. It’s not only the lyrical content that is complex and intelligent, it’s the way that every instrument seamlessly, and at times effortlessly, flows to produce such an ambient, atmospheric and powerful sound. Fieldhouse’s E.P offers a multitude of different sounds from We’re Not In Love, which sounds like a mixture between Mogwai and Ultrasound’s Stay Young, to Honest To God- a song that could rival any indie-pop song being blasted from the radio at the moment. Blitzkrieg is a track that leads you on a false path of atmospheric security as it falls into a cataclysmic end of cymbals and shouts from lead singer, Lewis, of an apocalypse so it’s quite an apt title and end. If you honestly sit down, with BIG earphones and attentively listen to both lyrics and the musicianship you realise that these guys are geniuses.

If Fieldhouse don’t get snapped up soon, I’ll shout from the roofs of Liverpool myself and maybe even send a letter to the Prime Minister.
