The folks at Kitsuné have always got their collective ears to the ground for special talent, and they are again right on the money with recent discovery Juveniles (facebook) – a young trio from Rennes, France.

Their sound is one of laid back glamour, its got the sparkle and groove reflecting some of the best the French indie-electro scene has to offer, but it is all slowed to a pop-lullaby that drifts you into your own personal palace.

Their debut single We Are Young will be out on October 24th on Kitsuné, and will make its way onto Kitsuné Maison 12: The Good Fun Issue on November 14th.

Conner Youngblood - Australia

It’s been nine months since I last wrote about Dallas’ Conner Youngblood (facebook/twitter) when he dropped the astounding Monsters as a debut.

Now he’s back with a new track, Australia, that keeps his sultry vocals front and centre, just backed by a simple repetitive drum march and a few chords. It is simple and beautiful, the whole time escalating until it fills you with joy. Welcome back.

Motel Beds - Western Son

Dayton, Ohio’s Motel Beds (facebook/twitter) managed to produce an album earlier this year in Sunfried Dreams that got their local scene all-a-chatter with their simple blues and rock’n'roll tunes and for a damn good reason. Each track is led by a beautiful rocking guitar riff, with everything else following up with that rock swagger that makes you remember why you fell in love with guitar music in the first place.

Our friends over at Turntable Kitchen are releasing my favourite track from Sunfried Dreams, Western Son, on 7″ vinyl (with UK Surfjerk as the b-side) as part of their new Musical Pairing project – it’s a bit like a singles club except along with the vinyl you get some original recipes, a premium dry-food ingredient, and a download of an Turntable Kitchen-curated mixtape. Yum.
