TV Girl - Benny and the Jets EP
After gaining a good bit of digital attention last summer with the release of If You Want It sampling Todd Rundgren’s 1973 hit Hello It’s Me, the San Diego-based TV Girl (Facebook/Twitter) are back with the release of their Benny and the Jetts EP.

The EP is four tracks of smooth 60s soul influenced summer jams that should be the soundtrack to your sunshine. It’s reminiscent of some of the better known Pilooski remixes that have come before – but rather than just hitting a soulful groove, TV Girl add an almost psychedelic twist, reflecting the bright carousels of your trip.

Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know Laura Marling‘s third album A Creature I Don’t Know is set for release on 12th September of Virgin Records with production from Ethan Johns. And from what we’ve heard so far it is easily going to live up to her previous two Mercury nominated albums.

Here we’ve got the debut single Sophia, complete with a little live-drawn video of the artwork. Her voice still sweetly soars with the richness we all fell in love with a few years ago – September can’t come around fast enough.

I may have been sleeping on these guys for a little while, but the Brighton-based trio of Regal Safari (two musicians and a visual artist) have quietly released their debut EP R G L S F R and it’s beautiful. It softly washes over your soul, whilst at the same time keeping to a beat to carry your progression into that other world.

Yes the name ticks all the boxes of a chillwave meme-generator, but that is the only thing that you can pigeon-hole about their “post-modem” tunes. There’s a twisted undercurrent that rears it head ever so sparsely on tunes like Undercurrent, but it is music to transport your dreams. They’ve created a soundtrack to a foreign landscape, pieces to cover the tribulations of your whole hyper-coloured life there.
