Django Django - Waveforms

Django Django have been smouldering away in their own little corner making their electronic-tribal sounds for a good couple of years now, with me first being able to catch them live at Stag & Dagger back them for one of the best live performances of that East London festival. I even made them one of the Blue Walrus “bands to watch” last March.

But they have finally resurfaced with new material – with Waveforms dropping in October on Because Music (Ed Banger’s distributor) – and it’s pretty special. They’ve kept that tribal electro-groove and spacey synths that they established themselves with – and then overlayed it with some mesmerising three-part harmonies. Catchy as ever, and I can’t wait to see some more new material out of the boys next week at their gig at The Shackwell Arms.

Justice - Audio, Video, DiscoWith the world waiting with baited breath for Justice‘s next LP due pretty soon, here we’ve got a stream of Audio, Video, Disco which had its first airing when Ed Banger Rec’s head honcho Busy P dropped it during his set at Hard Mix Festival.

It’s a little more 80s pop, and a little less thundering drums and growling bass than many were expecting – but but the boys of the cross have always had a playful side to them. It will be interesting what someone like SebastiAn would make of the remix though…

Here’s the AUDIO:
