Hot Chip Remixes and Remixed
Posted on 12.28.06 by walrae @ 11:53 pm

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has found Hot Chip’s The Warning to be my favourite album of last year, and boy have they beena busy bunch doing remixes for loads of other bands and artists. This is the reason for this post - putting together a good few of the Hot Chip remixes to demonstrates the wonders they can do for some songs. Oooh the electronic goodness.

Update - All tracks removed on request of EMI Records

  1. fantastic acoustic of boy from school! I wanted one of them about eight months ago, when they were promoting and I loved the way it was performed live, so I’m pleased to get it now.

  7. […] After the love I got for the Hot Chip Remixes and Remixed, I have decided to try to make remix compilations a relatively regular occasion here on The Blue Walrus for a while. Here is another compilation of remixes by none other than MSTRKRFT. The songs vary from house to rock demonstrating MSTRKRFT’s ability to work with a variety of genres. They do have an album out called The Looks, which is worth checking out. MSTRKRFT [Homepage] [MySpace] [Last.fm] […]

  10. I would love to do a part 2, but don’t have every remix hot chip has done sadly. They are busy boys, but I’ll see what I can do. If anyone wants to send me any remixes I’ll gladly put them up. From the list above I am missing:

Brooks - Roxxy (Hot Chip’s Women Of The World Mix)
Max Sedgley - Slowly (hot chip mix)
Kevin Mark Trail - Perspective (Hot Chip Remix)
Sia - Where I Belong (Hot Chip Remix)
Dondolo - Tetanus Crisis (Hot Chip Remix)
King Creosote - Bootprints (Hot Chip Remix)

  15. To all those that are requestinga repost of the mixes - I am afraid that as per a request from the IFPI I have taken down both the Hot Chip and MSRKRFT remixes until further notice when I have found out which particular songs they were complaining about (nobody has told me directly).

I would love to put the mixes back up but until I recieve written band/label permission directly I cannot do so. Please see the following post for more details:

  16. I have no problem downloading the complete zip but somehow downloading the single tracks doesn’t work. Maybe I’m the only one having problems, but check it out if you can…

  17. Sorry, the complete zip-file doesn’t work either. They’re telling me it’s not on the server anymore…

  19. […] I am still getting requests for the last bunch of Hot Chip remixes that I posted just before New Year, and so I thought I would put a second volume together. All mixes only stay up for a limited time, so get them while you can and you’ll need an 80 minute CD if you want to burn this. These guys are awesome. […]

  20. hey man can you repost the zip files of the remixes and remixed. i’ve been looking for these for awhile.

    Comment by Joush — April 5, 2007 @ 8:26 pm

  21. I have been asked by the label to not post the Remixed compilation - so that won’t be going up again I’m afraid. The Remixes compilation is reposted every now and again for short periods as a thank you to readers and you just missed it this time, but keep checking for the next time it is reposted.

    Comment by tim — April 5, 2007 @ 10:02 pm

  22. Its a shame you can’t repost them. I was really excited about the remixed one. if anyone has them uploaded somewhere and wouldnt mind sharing them please shoot me an email. thanks so much. williamcmoran@hotmail.com

  23. I want to buy the hot chip remixes on cd. How do I do that?

    Comment by Bruce — May 9, 2007 @ 2:28 am

  24. These compilations aren’t for sale shamefully. I had some direct requests from EMI to stop sharing these, so I can’t email them or anything.

You can find most the songs with a bit of time and effort on other sites if you search on HypeM.com otherwise Limewire could be a good bet, but of course I didn’t tell you that.

  25. Help! March 15 ‘08 Just came back from Mexico where I heard a slamming song - the dj said it was a hot chip remix of a” Coldiless” tune. It was way loud in the club and he had a deep accent so I could be way off on the name ring any bells for anyone?? Thanks

    Comment by eric — March 16, 2008 @ 12:19 am

  26. You see now I’m jealous. Mexico is awesome.

I can’t think of a band called anything like Coldiless though I’m afraid.

Only band that has a similar sound to their name is Gorillaz, and Hot Chip remixed their Kids with guns track.

What does the track sound like? Vocals? I’ll have a dig through if you can give a few more details.
