The Archie Bronson Outfit is a band picked up early by Domino Records (the big UK indie label) which I have heard numerous times on the Domino samplers but never realy given them a real listen. Well, on the request of a friend, and by Domino allowing me to post a track, I have really started to enjoy the energy of their latest album.

The outfit have dveleoped their sound in south west London along with the like of the Duke Spirit, which were one of my favourite bands of last summer along with CYHSY and the New Pornographers. The album has a great groove to it and the energy is fantastic, which leads me to post Dart for my Sweetheart – a great example of the energy they give off. I’m really looking forward to catrching them live soon.

I really do love the summer.
I’m off again, this time to France to help a friend renovate a house his parents have just bought out there. So in the french theme I thought I would post a track I have had on my playlists for a while and always puts a smile on people’s faces when they hear it.
Nouvelle Vague are a band that do covers of famous songs in a jazz/bossa nova style and is a lot better than you would think from that decription. Check them out Nouvelle Vague / Myspace

The Fratellis are the latest buzz band coming from Glasgow (my home town for only about the next 2 weeks). Although the 3 piece look like any other indie/new wave band of the last few years, once you listen to them they have a pop punk sound that reminds me of the London sound of Dirty Pretty Things with catchy riffs coming from all over the place.
