Well I’m back from my various travels (Which involved Greece, Cornwall, and back for a school reunion cricket match), and the remarkably long time I’ve spent on the train meant that I could spend a good bit of time listening to my most recent additions to my music library on my ipod or should that be ipizzle
Anyway top of my summer playlist has been Jamie T and the know almost well renowned Lily Allen.
Jamie T is hard to find a genre for as he goes from anything from acoustic almost indie music to reggae. I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t get my act together to see him as he came up to Scotland recently and played at Nice ‘n’ Sleazy in Glasgow, but I’ll have to catch him another time.

Lily Allen is another UK artist that has been likened to The Streets aka Mike Skinner by the music press, and although writes lyrics with a similar gritty realism the songs are written with a good bit of wit and sarcasm, and seem, at leats to me, to be happier.

I haven’t seen Jamie with full backing band but everytime I’ve seen him has been pretty great. Particularly in March when I saw him last, where it was amazing to see the whole crowd singing along to his every word. Jamie T deserves to be as big as Lily Allen.
